AmeriCorps VISTA members support an organization’s anti-poverty efforts through capacity-building, like building out a new volunteer management program or designing a organization-wide communications plan. Projects have an actionable goal that will support current and future operations of an organization.

Supervisor Expectations

Service Term Period

A VISTA member serves at a full-time capacity for 365 days, a full calendar year, starting summer 2026.

The VISTA will have a designated supervisor who will onboard and support them during their term and serve as the main contact for AZ Serve staff.

Benefits through Arizona Serve

VISTA members receive pay and other benefits from Arizona Serve, meaning you can focus on project implementation and not administrative tasks.

Organization Eligibility:

AmeriCorps Requirements

Members complete monthly trainings as a part of their AmeriCorps requirements, typically held on the third Wednesday of each month.

  • Must be a nonprofit, government agency, or school with programming related to anti-poverty efforts

  • Ability to onboard, support, and provide professional development to a full-time service member

  • Commit to contributing $9,000 in PartnerShare, a program fee that supports the member’s living allowance.

VISTA members are not intended to take the place of full-time staff.
